Public works employees are all public or municipal staff who take care of the buildings and services in a town or city. What makes them public is being government-funded and maintained by city or state taxes. The general public relies on these workers to keep the schools, buildings, roads, and local areas maintained and clean. Their primary duties consist of but are not limited to public works, utilities, construction, maintenance, mechanical duties, and outside manual labor.
